I can’t believe that it was just 2 years ago that I looked at that pregnancy test, and remembering the emotion that overwhelmed me, knowing that my life would be forever changed. Has it really been that long? I can’t believe my “little” peanut is now well over 26 lbs and is going to be 16 months in one more week! He has really grown so much, and is now walking like a champ! He is no longer crawling anymore. I didn’t see him crawl once today. Not once. My little boy is growing up! *tear*
Well, so much has happened within the past month. Where to start? Well, my hubby got a new job! It is definitely a step up from his last position (moving on up in this world, proud of you babe!). Depending on how the new job works out, we are seriously thinking about purchasing our first home soon. We are not sure if we want to remain in San Diego, or move somewhere else in southern California. We are thinking somewhere in the Inland Empire, because the homes out there are so beautiful and much cheaper than San Diego. Luckily, Nathan’s new position will allow us to move wherever we want because he will be working from home…yay! The only thing we would have to consider is living somewhat close to an airport for when Nathan does have to travel for his job. So…the possibilities are pretty much endless, and we obviously have a lot of thinking to do. Technically, we could pretty much live anywhere in the U.S. but we love Southern California too much, and we want to remain somewhat close to family and friends.
So, Samuel currently has a cold (break out those boogie wipes!). He has had a low grade fever, accompanied by a cold (cough and runny nose.) I think his molars are coming through as well. The past few days have been pretty rough. It’s so sad to hear your little one cough and sound so miserable. It’s like you want to do everything you can in your power to make them feel 100 % right away, but you just have to let it run it’s course. Luckily, Samuel has a pretty strong immune system.
Lately, we have been on and off with primal eating. I would say we mostly eat primal foods, with the occasional white rice, or beans, and potatoes on the side. We definitely have been far from perfect. Also, the past few days have been a bit stressful, so I shamefully admit we made a cold stone stop to get some ice cream. (I know, I know.) Sometimes my sanity comes first! Haha. I have learned though, as imperfect as I am when it comes to sticking wholeheartedly to the primal diet, I do eat pretty well for the most part, which I consider to be 70-80% of the time. Nathan and I have made some pretty delicious dinners. I would like to get back into going on a more strict plan, but I am okay with how everything is going. I will say, I am proud of myself for cutting back on coffee. I have been drinking a lot more water, and cutting back to 1-2 cups of coffee per day. I do notice a difference in the way a feel. Also, I might add that I have been taking a magnesium supplement which has been a total benefit. You would be surprised at how much magnesium we don’t get, and how much our bodies benefit from it. I will probably write another blog post about that sometime in the future. I have really done my research on it, really informative stuff!
I have to admit, I am excited for all the new changes that are happening in our life. I hope that my hubby transitions smoothly into his new job, and that he likes it. I know that there are some sacrifices to be made, but when it comes down to it, it is all worth it. Not knowing exactly what is going to happen in the future kind of makes things exciting and fun. We really do hope to settle in somewhere that we can call our permanent home soon. So much to think about and do! Are you in the middle of a transition? Any big changes occuring or about to occur in your life? Please share your thoughts!
